Buyer

The Buyer will support the Indirect Procurement function in the delivery of a cost‑effective, efficient and compliant supply of goods and services across the business.
The role will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support sourcing activity, supplier management, contract administration, supplier onboarding, ESG compliance, invoice validation and cost control initiatives, whilst developing procurement capability and commercial understanding.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across multiple indirect spend categories, develop core procurement skills and progress a career within the Indirect Procurement team.

Skills, Know How and Experience:

• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• An interest in procurement and supply chain, with a desire to develop professionally
• CIPS qualification (Level 3 or 4) or working towards CIPS is desirable
• Experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain environment (preferred but not essential)
• Good numerical skills and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
• A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers
• A customer service mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
• Awareness of how systems, data and AI tools can be used to improve efficiency
