Head Of Logistics Systems Delivery

Key Responsibilities 

• Own end-to-end delivery of systems supporting NDC operations, including warehouse management (WMS), route planning, replenishment, and stock accuracy platforms. 

• Translate operational and supply chain requirements from the business into a clear, prioritised systems delivery roadmap, in partnership with Operations and Supply Chain stakeholders. 

• Lead, coach, and develop the Logistics Systems team (Three dedicated engineers), setting clear objectives and building capability within the team. 

• Manage delivery governance across logistics systems projects — scope, timeline, budget, risk, and quality — reporting progress to the Head of Solution Design & Delivery and wider IT leadership. 

• Work alongside the Head of Branch Systems Delivery to ensure logistics systems delivery is aligned with, and integrated into, the broader IT delivery portfolio and technology roadmap. 

• Own relationships with key logistics technology vendors and integration partners, ensuring contracts, SLAs, and support arrangements meet the needs of a growing NDC network. 

• Ensure logistics systems are architected to integrate cleanly with core GSF platforms (including Autopart/Klipboard, GSFAPI, and Lobster), avoiding point-to-point complexity. 

• Champion automation and process efficiency across distribution systems, identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy and throughput. 

• Ensure reliability and resilience are engineered into every logistics system implementation from design through to go-live — including appropriate redundancy, monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery provisions — so that NDC operations are not exposed to avoidable downtime. 

• Ensure new and changed logistics systems are implemented in full compliance with all GSF IT and Security policies, including cyber security, data protection, and change control standards, with no deviations permitted without formal risk sign-off. 

• Support due diligence, audit, and investor reporting requirements relating to logistics systems, in line with GSF's PE-scrutinised operating environment. 

• Provide clear, timely escalation and incident management for logistics systems issues affecting NDC operations, minimising business disruption. 

Person Specification 

Experience 

• Proven track record delivering warehouse, logistics, or supply chain systems, ideally within distribution, retail, or automotive parts environments. 

• Experience leading technical delivery teams, with strong people management and coaching skills. 

• Track record of managing complex systems delivery programmes, including third-party vendors and integration partners. 

• Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, PE-backed business, balancing pace of delivery with governance and control. 

• Experience working within a Microsoft-based technology environment (Azure, M365) is advantageous.

• A design mindset that treats reliability, resilience, and security as first-class requirements engineered in from the outset, not retrofitted after go-live. 

• A collaborative leadership style, able to work effectively alongside peers such as the Head of Branch Systems Delivery and represent Logistics Systems Delivery within the wider IT function.

• Head of Branch Systems Delivery — peer within IT Delivery, close collaboration on cross-portfolio dependencies.
