Job Title: Financial Controller

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee our company's financial operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the company's financial management, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all financial reporting and helping to drive the financial strategy of the business. The Financial Controller will work closely with the CFO, the wider executive team and other departments to provide financial insights and support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Provide clear and concise financial reports and analysis to senior management and other stakeholders to support decision-making, including management of the monthly financial close process.
• Risk Management and Internal Controls: Ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to across the organization to safeguard assets and enhance the accuracy of financial data. Manage the company’s insurance arrangements in conjunction with our broker.
• Compliance: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely statutory financial statements in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Manage the external financial audit process, including overseeing the preparation of necessary reports and documents. Ensure direct and indirect tax compliance, working with external advisers as required.
• Treasury: Oversee the company’s treasury management, including FX and short-term cash forecasting.
• Team Management: Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement in all financial processes. The Financial Controller manages five direct reports and a total team of c. [50] people.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department and across the organization, implementing best practices to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with at least 5 years PQE.
• Background in financial audit.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar financial management role.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and reporting standards.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Proficiency in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
